Chapter 37
New feelings
Himiko layed on her bed, arms bent under her as she doodled in a small flip notebook. She had tried for hours to suppress the smile on her face, but had given up when it made her cheeks hurt too much. She giggled to herself, socked feet kicking in the air, as she replayed Uravity domineering display earlier.
The blonde hadn’t felt anything like she did in that moment before. Witnessing an alpha stand up for an omegan stranger and win the standoff within seconds had been intoxicating. And all of that had been for her! Himiko -her- had an alpha come to her defense! She had almost slicked up because of it! Thank god the stink from Shigaraki and Overhaul had kept those instincts subdued until she made it back to her room, because she wasn’t sure if she would have been able to compose herself quickly enough to stop it. How delishably embarrassing would that have been?! Forcing everyone to smell her slick because of Uravity.
Ugg, now she wished that she could have shown her appreciation toward the brunette alpha before she was forced to leave. It would have been the bare minimum for her to do. Now Uravity probably thought she was ungrateful, or worse, that she wasn’t interested in whatever all of that was. Which was the complete opposite.
A whine slipped from the back of the blonde’s throat. She blinked in anger, then stabbed the pen in her hand through the flipbook with a growl. “Stupid!” She grumbled to herself as she stabbed again and again.
A knock at her door averted her attention, and with a grumble she rolled off her bed. If it was Shigaraki she was going to put this pen in his windpipe. It was his fault she had to leave that beautiful alpha! If it was Jin then she would politely slap his face and tell him to fuck off. She didn’t need his handsome face distracting her from her mood. But anyone else would not live for a single second past the door opening. She wanted to wallow in peace.
With a swift pull, she yanked the door open. The low growl in her throat quickly cut off into a cough as she graced her eyes upon Uravity. The woman was leaning against the adjacent wall from the door, one hand in her pocket the other lax. God it was such a hypnotic sight that the omega was sure that slick was moments away from spilling into her underwear.
Uravity smiled at her- a soft and content scent of Elderberry encircling Himiko- while those brown eyes looked the omega up and down for a moment. “I wanted to introduce myself properly.” Uravity spoke as she pushed off the wall and took the couple of steps to stand in front of the omega.
“Okay.” Himiko whispered, eyes wide as she looked up at the woman before her.
The alpha was wearing a short sleeved shirt instead of the baggy clothing from the meeting. Now the omega could see the muscled form of the alpha’s arms more clearly and the hourglass shape of a waste that must be engulfed in thick abs. Even through the jeans the alpha wore, the omega could see how thick with muscle her thighs were.
It was a wet dream, a hypnotic call to the blonde’s omega to wine until the alpha took her to bed. The alpha before her was strong, competent and completely headstrong in a way that Himiko had only seen in Shigaraki and Overhaul.
”Uravity.” The omega said, blinking away her haze as she addressed the alpha. “I already know about you. Most of us here have heard of you.” She quickly said. Himiko didn’t want the Alpha to think she was easy. No, a little chase would do wonders for her self confidence and struggling libito. “You are a sunset hero, mostly out in public during rescues or cleanup. Though you don’t do interviews or photo ops like the limelight. If I remember correctly.” She continued, swaying up onto her toes and then back down on her heels. “From the information we gathered, your team has become more vigilante than actual heroes. How interesting.”
The brunette hummed, her smile growing into a playful smirk. “You flatter me, Toga.”
Himiko lifted a brow at the lack of answer. “It seems that introductions aren’t needed if you already know my name.”
Uravity laughed. “I guess that’s true.” Her cheeks flushed to a pink hue as she averted eye contact for a moment. “To be honest, I wanted to spend some time with you, not just introduce myself. So, do you want to go for a walk with me?”
Himiko smiled since that was an answer she was after. Her scent gave away how excited she was before she could verbally answer. “Yes, let me grab my shoes.”
The alpha nodded, “Maybe your favorite knife too.” Himiko looked at the woman with a questioning look. “I want to see what you gravitate toward so I can offer a proper gift in the future.”
Golden eyes widened at what the other said. A gift? She never got a gift before, that was reserved for offers of dating. The step before courting. Holy shit! She must be dreaming.
The omega nodded, but paused. “I have more than one favorite though.” She pouted as she opened the top drawer of her night stand. “I’ll just show you one a day, that way you have time to get to know me.” She challenged. She wasn’t going to go easy on the alpha, no way, she was not desperate. She was going to draw this out until the alpha was begging on her knees for her.
“Sounds like a wonderful idea, Omega.” Uragravity smiled, the most sincere that Himiko had seen before.
Deku hopped lightly in place as he waited beside the blonde alpha and tried to peek around his broad frame.
“Calm down, Izuku.” Katsuki huffed, though it held no malicious tone. “I’m almost done.”
”But I’m hungry, Kacchan.” Izuku whined. “The workout you had me and Aunty do has emptied me, I’m shriveling away.”
Katsuki snorted. “So dramatic.” He teased, nipping at a finger that got too close to the food he was plating.
”It’s not. Look, my hands are shaking from the fatigue.” The omega tried to shove his hand closer to the blonde’s face in retaliation for the nip, but couldn’t quite reach when the alpha pulled away.
Katsuki rolled his eyes and he held back a laugh. “I’m done now, you big baby. Let’s go.”
The omega leaped happily, hands clapping together as he led the way out of the kitchen and toward the back door. “I already got the blanket and books. Do you think we need anything else?”
”If we do, we can walk the twenty feet back inside to grab it.” Katsuki huffed, a smile on his face as he watched the omega gather everything in his arms. It was cute. “Hurry up, the sandwiches are going to dry out.”
A happy hum caught the two’s attention. “Oh, are you going on a lunch date? How sweet.” Inko giggled, her happy pheromones fluttering through the air.
“Mom!” Izuku gasped, his cheeks turning red as he looked up at the alpha with wide eyes. “We are just going to read All Might comics.”
Katsuki grunted in agreement, though the idea of this being a date was enticing. “Got to get the nerd caught up on the issues he missed. That way when the new movie is released he isn’t lost.” He explained, as he looked at the older omega.
“Sounds like a book club. How fun.” She said, her smile wide as she looked up at Katsuki. “Make sure my baby doesn’t get sunburned. We weren’t outside for more than thirty minutes a few weeks ago and his shoulders and face burned.”
”Don’t worry, Aunty. I made him apply sunscreen before I started lunch.” The alpha said, happy to see the woman’s shoulder’s fall into a more relaxed state.
“I’m not a baby!” Izuku grumbled, stomping toward the back door with his shoulders hunched over the blanket and small stack of comic books. “I don’t need you guys worrying about me like that.”
”I’m sorry, Izuku.” Inko hesitated, eyes wide as she seemed to realize something. “You are right, that is something a child would need reminding of. I didn’t mean to imply you were one.”
”It’s okay, mom.” Izuku whispered. He paused and took a breath but didn’t turn to look at her. “You coming Kacchan?”
The blonde nodded as he followed the omega, but paused to speak to Inko. “Don’t get hurt over this. I almost put the sun cream on myself before he smacked the bottle out of my hand.”
Inko’s frown turned into a smile. “Thank you, Katsuki.”
The alpha nodded, giving the woman a small smile before following the unruly omega out the back door.
The two sat under the large tree in the back of the estate. The blanket was rolled out under them as Izuku leaned against the alpha’s side and read out loud from the comic that he was holding. Katsuki had his head leaned back against the trunk of the tree, an arm loosely wrapped around the omega’s waist as he enjoyed the sun and the omega’s voice.
When Katsuki had his boyfriend bring his All Might collection over, it wasn’t initially to get Izuku to catch up on the series. It was to help get the nerd's reading levels to an appropriate level for his age. It had shocked the alpha when he realized how much the omega struggled with reading for more than just a few paragraphs at a time.
When the alpha had asked Izuku what he read before, the omega had explained that he only had a small collection of books, most of them textbooks. Nothing that anyone would want to read more than once or in one sitting.
So Katsuki had quickly devised a plan and it was working. Izuku had sat on the couch next to him for a solid hour the day before reading the first two comics. The omega had fallen asleep on the first page of the third. It had been adorable to see when Katuski had eventually noticed.
He was hoping that today they could get a few more books read, but didn’t want to pressure the omega. The nerd had obviously lost the ability to sit for hours and just read. It was a lot of mental work to regrow that ability, at least these had illustrations to go along with the story to make it easier.
”Are you asleep?” Izuku whispered.
Kasuki grunted, though his eyes stayed closed.
“Umm,” the omega hesitated before mumbling under his breath a quick “Can I lean against you?”
“Whatever,” Katsuki simply replied, not really caring. Though the moment he felt the weight of the small man against him a soft croon tried to escape his throat. He cleared his throat, hoping it was enough to hide the embarrassing sound enough. It seemed to work since Izuku started reading again.
Izuku wasn’t sure how much time had passed, but it was enough for the sun to move farther from its place that was originally at high noon. He could feel the fatigue starting to settle in his eyes, his limbs growing heavy as they sagged in holding the book up properly.
He turned to look up at the blonde, wanting to tell him that he was growing tired and wanted to go back inside, but stopped when he noticed how deep the alpha was breathing. Katsuki’s eyes were closed, his hand laying slack by Izuku.
“K-Kacchan?” Izuku whispered, not wanting to wake the alpha if he had fallen asleep. Said alpha didn’t stir, just breathed deeply as he had before.
Izuku adjusted his position, kneeling where he sat so he could look at the alpha better. He didn’t want to admit it, but he liked looking at the alpha. He had grown and changed so much yet barely at all from when they were kids. It was something that Izuku struggled to wrap his head around, to the point that his omega was frustrated that he couldn’t just stare at the alpha until he figured out where the anomaly was for the difference or lack thereof.
Katsuki still had the same sharp jaw as he did before, but it was more pronounced- or the muscles from his neck and shoulder made it seem that way. That was something that the omega was still trying to get used to, the large and bulbous muscles that his childhood friend now had. It was impressive if not intimidating.
The blonde’s cheekbones were higher now, no longer mixed in with the baby fat of his youth, along with his nose. Izuku still remembered the way the alpha’s cheeks would puff out when he was frustrated, making his face look like a circle. Izuku wondered if they would be as chubby now as they had been back then. Part of him knew they wouldn’t, Katsuki was far too lean to have that happen. His nose was an indicator of that. It was pointed and slim with fine lines along the ridge that would match the ones that formed when he snarled.
That had a smile growing on Izuku’s face. Now that he looked, the omega could see the beginning of fine lines at the corners of the alpha’s eyes and between his brows. Even in their childhood, Izuku had noticed those lines since the blonde’s resting face was a glare. A very handsome glare if he could be honest.
“He’s beautiful, isn’t he.”
A whisper started Izuku harshly. He turned around quickly, moving away from the sleeping alpha as he tried to hide that he had been staring. “I-i” He began but stopped when he saw Toshi standing at the edge of the blanket, a smile on his face as he looked down at the omega.
“I find that Katsuki is most beautiful when he’s asleep.” The alpha continued, slipping off his shoes and settling on the blanket beside Izuku.
”He is always beautiful.” Izuku defended before blushing. “I-I mean-“
Toshi laughed, “You’re right, though I think you can agree that Kat is more angelic like this.” He motioned with his hand toward the blonde.
Izuku looked back over, “Ya, he is more of a demon when awake, though not any less beautiful.”
The alpha chuckled again. “He cares about you, you know.” He spoke, drawing the omega’s attention. “Cares so much that it’s almost detrimental to himself.”
Izuku tilted his head in confusion. “What do you mean?”
“I won’t divulge too much, gotta leave the mean alpha with some dignity.” The alpha winked at the omega and Izuku couldn’t help but giggle. “Kat has changed since finding you.”
Izuku frowned, he couldn’t imagine the alpha change for anything. “Why do you say that?”
”Cause I witnessed it.” Toshi said, his eyes moving to look at his boyfriend. “I went to school with him and have done many missions since then. Before he was a grump that barely showed any emotion beside anger and irritation. Now though, since you reentered his life, he has expressed more of himself than in the ten years I have known him.”
Izuku nodded as he looked at the dark hair alpha more closely. His hair was longer now, past his shoulders though still pulled half up in its usual style. “You think I did that though? If anything, I would have assumed the opposite. Kacchan has never seen my existence significant enough for him to change.“
”No offense Izuku, but Kat would change everything about himself for you.” He stated firmly, the look in his gaze sincere. “You mean a lot to him, to the point that he will follow you to the ends of the earth.”
Izuku laughed, not believing a word that the alpha said. “Toshi, you make it sound that Kacchan is in love with me. That’s a bit weird coming from his boyfriend.”
”Not weird.” Toshi whispered, looking away with a huff. “Because I understand and share the same feelings he does.”
”What?” Izuku asked. What was the alpha even trying to say? It didn’t make any sense. “Can you explain what you-“
”What are you two babbling about?!” Katsuki grumbled, yawning loudly as he sat up.
“Nothing, dear.” Toshi goated.
The blonde leaned forward until he could punch his boyfriend's arm. “Keeping secrets now, hu? Not very boyfriend-like.”
Izuku shook his head, moving to face the blonde as he shook his hands in the air. “No, Kacchan. There are no secrets. Toshi-san was just talking about how beautiful you were when you sleep-“
”And Izuku said that you were a demon while awake.” Toshi interjected, leaning back and enjoying the horror that took over the omega’s face.
“Ha?!” Katsuki’s eyes grew wide as he looked at the omega. “A demon?”
”NO!” Izuku yelled, eyes wide as he looked at the alpha. “That’s not what I said-“
Toshi laughed. “Now who is the lier now, Izuku?
The omega blushed, realizing that he had said what the alpha said. “I didn’t mean it like that though.”
Katsuki curled a brow and leaned closer until he was in the omega’s space. “If you think I am a demon, maybe I’ll start acting like one more.”
Izuku didn't have time to process what the alpha meant before he was plowed into and pushed to the ground. Hands found his stomach and the omega had no offense against the tickling that started to ensue.
“Ka-Kachaan!” Izuku screeched,.grabbing the hands on him to no avail. “Y-you know I am ticklish!”
”Ya I do, and I’m exploiting it.” The blonde replied, grabbing one of Izuku’s arms and forcing it up so he could tickle the omega’s armpit.
“I’m- Im- sorry!” Izuku laughed, struggling to break the grip the alpha had on his arm. “You aren’t a demon! You’re an angel!” He yelled between giggles.
Katsuki grunted in approval as he let the omega go. Izuku gasped in relief, huffing heavily as he tried to regain his breath.
“That’s fucking right.” The blonde said. He loomed over Izuku for a moment, letting himself enjoy the view of the omega sprawled out. “I’m a damn saint.”
”Of course! Kacchan is the best.” Izuku agreed, eyes crinkling as he smiled.
The blonde hugged before making himself move away and let Izuku sit back up. He was surprised though when he was on the shoulder.
“Don’t do that, I hate being tickled.” Izuki pouted.
”Sounded like you liked it.” The blonde teased, smirking as the omega stuck out his tongue in retaliation.
”Alright you two, let's get inside.” Toshi interrupted. “It’s game night tonight, which means Inko will need our help with dinner.”
Izuku nodded, gathering the comic books as Katsuki picked up the dishes from lunch before Toshi folded the blanket.
“Where did we stop?” Katsuki asked, looking at the small stack of comics in Izuku’s arms.
“Umm.” Izuku looked down and grabbed the one he had paused on. “Book five, I think there is only half left.”
”Damn nerd, you're flying through these.” Katsuki complemented, hand finding a spot on the omega’s head to ruffle the curls.
Toshi watched the two, smiling as he watched a deep shade of red form on Izuku’s cheeks and a soft pink growth on his boyfriend’s.
Inko smiled as she placed the large roast onto the platter, it was her best job yet. It had been quite a few years since she had made this particular recipe since it produced far more meat that her and her mate could reasonably eat. So to finally make it for her family and friends was wonderful.
She looked to the hero at the stove as he made gravy from the roast drippings. “How does it look, Katsuki?”
The alpha sipped some of the gravy from a small spoon. “Damn, Aunty. This is fantastic. Give me the recipe.”
The omega giggled but nodded happily. “Only in exchange for more compliments. Any compliment from you is worth exploiting.”
The alpha looked at her and smirked but before he could reply a man cleared his throat. Inko turned, smiling when her eyes landed on her mate. “Do you need something, Sweetheart?”
The older alpha nodded. “Can I have a word with you in private?”
“Oh, can it wait till after dinner? I don't want the roast to get -.” Inko started but was interrupted.
“I'm sure Mitsuki’s kid will take care of it.” The man said, not once looking at the blonde to confirm.
Katauki rolled his eyes but relented. “Don't worry, Aunti. I've got it.”
Inko nodded, frowning as she followed her alpha. They walked to their bedroom on the second floor, the alpha closing the door behind them.
“I think some boundaries regarding Izuku need to be discussed.” The man began, not giving his wife any time to take a seat on the desk chair.
“Boundaries?”
“Yes, that's what I said.” Hisashi quipped. “I believe the two heroes here are getting too close to him. I'm worried they will grow attached.
Inko chuckled, finding her husband's worry endearing. “Katsuki and Izuku were friends as children, dear. I'm sure they are rekindling that friendship. It's good for Izuku, especially with recovering.”
“And the dark haired alpha?” Hisashi asked pointedly. “We know nothing of him.”
“But we do, sweetheart.” Inko tried to lull. “He is Katauki’s partner-”
“A very recent partner.” Hisashi retorted, pointing his finger at the omega. “One that has a powerful quirk. Do you know what it is?’
Inko shook her head, brows furrowed.
“He brainwashes people, Inko.” He began, staring the omega down. “ One word addressed to him and he has full control over them. How do we know that he hasn't done that with Mitsuki's kid? What if he does something to Izuku.”
“Brainwashing?” Inko whispered, worry evident in her voice. “But he is a hero, he helped free Izuku. Masaru has spoken so highly of him.”
“That doesn't mean much with this kind of quirk.” Hisashi retorted. “Especially since that alpha has been around them before we even arrived. Trust me, Inko. How do we know he isn't a double agent? What if he is working with the villains. That’s a villainous quirk, Inko, taking away people's will without them knowing.”
Inko's completion paled significantly. “Then what do we do?”
“We need to get Izuku out of here now, but we can't let them sense anything.” Hisashi said, closing the distance between them until he could kneel before his mate. “I've already started the paperwork to get Izuku transferred.”
Inko nodded, grasping her husband's hand tightly. “Right. We've got to act normal.”
“Good girl.” Hisashi praised. He leaned in and kissed her forehead. “You can't trust anyone here. Not even Masaru. We don't know if he has been compromised.”
Inko nodded again, tears spilling down her cheeks.
“We gotta get some distance between Izuku and everyone.” The alpha continued. “It's to keep the pup safe. He doesn't know better, not with everything he's lived through. We need to be his parents now, protect him.
“Our pup.” Inko whispered, horrified. “What if they got to him already?”
“We can't know for sure. So it's hard to assume that there hasn't been any brainwashing already.” He warned. “He could be resistant to us under the effects of the quirk, but it has to wear off with distance and time. We got to do what we have to, Inko. No matter what Izuku says.”
She nodded, blinking the tears from her eyes as she cleared her throat. “We got this.” Inko whispered. “How long till we can leave?”
“A few days max.”
Inko nodded again, eyes clamped shut as she breathed. “Okay. Let's go have dinner like this conversation never happened.”
Hisashi smiled, kissing his wife quickly on the lips. “That's my girl. Always so brave for me and the pup.”
The two walked back downstairs, holding hands with Inko smiling pleasantly when she saw that Katauki had already set the table and brought out the food.
“Wonderful.” she clapped.
“It smells so good!” Izuku said, walking into the room with the rest of the household in tow.
“Inks, you outdid yourself.” Masaru added as he settled into his seat and Mitauki took the head chair as the alpha of the house. “I'm famished just from looking.” She complimented.
Inko only allowed her gaze to drift over to Shinsou for a moment before she nodded. The alpha was walking to the open seat next to where Katsuki sat, Izuku right behind him to sit next to them.
“Izuku, darling.” Inko called before the young omega could get to the chair. “Will you sit by your father and I? We haven't gotten to do that since we arrived.”
Izuku nodded quickly, his brows furrowed as he walked to his mother. “Sorry, I didn't realize.”
Inko relaxed at her son's willingness, smiling gently as Hitoshi’s warning replayed in her head “Thank you, Baby.”
“Don't worry, son.” Hisashi spoke, pulling out the chair that would put him between them.
The group settled down, content with the arrangement set and eager to serve themselves the appetizing food.
