Chapter 42
A Parasite
Izuku stumbled back- foot catching on the stair- and landed on his ass. Those green eyes widened as he stared up at the blonde alpha in surprise. Thick curls bounced as Izuku shook his head back and forth, his sweet scent of peach altering into one of confusion and panic. “
What?!” One hand raised to the collar of his shirt and pulled it away from his throat, the fabric stretching until a few threads snapped. “That's not- no. I'm not-” Izuku stuttered as he tried to process.
Katsuki huffed as he eyed the omega's hand, remembering how Izuku did the same thing the other night. He knelt as best he could and gently pulled the other’s shaking hand into his own, squeezing it a few times to catch the man's attention.
“Not what, nerd?” Katsuki kept his voice soft, not wanting to startle his childhood friend. He let a little of his scent out, hoping the ginger would soothe his childhood friend.
Izuku looked up at the alpha, a frown heavy on his face as he searched for something in his childhood friend’s expression. Uncertainty more than palpable.
Katsuki sighed, his other hand settling against Izuku's chin. He should have expected something like this; that look of hope but absolute confusion in the green eyes he loved. Izuku, despite the years, was always so expressive and easy to read.
“I did this in the wrong order. I never apologized to you.” He whispered, his thumb traced the omega's bottom lip in a light caress.
The alpha didn't let the other speak despite how Izuku opened his mouth to do so. “I was a shitty friend to you back then. Said and did things that were awful… and I'm sorry, Izuku.” Katsuki said, eyes following the way his thumb moved the omega’s plush lip. “I wish I could take it back, the way I pushed you away. The way I took my anger out on you in the name of bettering myself to be a hero. It was all villainous, even for the age I was. You deserved a friend- a real friend. I'm sorry I wasn't that for you.”
Izuku’s eyes shone with a few unshed tears as he listened, face softening into a smile. His scent upturned a bit as he watched the alpha before him, allowing their two scents to settle around them in a comfortable blanket; sweet and inviting, calm and alluring.
“Oh Kacchan. I don't hold any of that against you.” Izuku whispered, hand reaching up to grip the blonde's wrist in a loose grip.
Red eyes narrowed, “How could you not? I isolated you from everyone. Made your life shit.” Katsuki bit out, eyes squeezing shut in shame. Never toward the omega, but at himself, at all the abuse and manipulation he tortured the other with.
Izuku smiled sadly, squeezing the blonde's forearm until red met his unwavering gaze. “Yes, what you did wasn't great. You hurt me a lot, but,” Izuku looked to the side, eyes focused on something as he thought about how to explain the torrent in his head. “I don't hold any negative feelings towards you. The weight of everything from back then is so miniscule compared to what I am dealing with now. I-”
Izuku paused, biting his lip and breathing deeply through his nose. “I have seen and witnessed true villains, Kacchan. Lived and did things that I wish I could forget.” He closes his eyes, those tears falling free and tracking down his face. “It's not that what you did isn't bad, but I can't hold what a child did to me alongside what villains have done. It’s easier to move on from my childhood pains than hold onto them. I have forgiven you. I've seen who you are and-”
Izuku opened his eyes and turned his gaze back to meet glossy red. “I think you need to forgive yourself more than asking me for it. I've seen how badly you beat yourself up, Kacchan. I see how much effort you put into making sure I am safe and comfortable. I did back in that ring as I do now.” He tried to keep his tone soft, but it wobbled slightly.
His smaller hand reached up, cupping the alpha's jaw, running his fingers against the rough texture of scruff. “That debt you hold in your head has been paid off, you have redeemed yourself in so many ways now.”
Katsuki blinked a couple times, a tear sliding free but was quickly swiped away by Izuku's thumb. Katsuki stared at his childhood friend, lower lip wobbling. They had drawn closer, breathing the same air as their foreheads almost touched.
Though, after a moment the blonde finally nodded, leaning and nuzzling into the omega's hand before kissing it.
“Thank you, Izuku.” He whispered, voice so soft and raw. He moved the omega's other hand to his forehead as he bowed slightly to the omega.
Izuku smiled, this one larger than any he had shared in so long; his cheeks ached as he nuzzled his nose into blonde hair. “Anything for my Kacchan.”
The two sat there for a moment longer, huddled together. Izuku stroked the alpha's jaw lightly while Katsuki took deep breaths of the omega's content scent. It helped ground him, helped ease the ache he had been caring deep inside his heart for years.
It took the blonde some time to compose himself. He didn’t want to, but ultimately he pulled the omega’s hand away and looked up to meet a brilliant green. God he loved this man.
He took a steadying breath, clearing his throat before speaking. “So… you'll do anything for me? Sounds like you reciprocate our feelings.”
Izuku tilted his head away as his hand fell heavily from the alpha’s grasp, his eyes looking down while teeth sunk harshly into his own lip. “Kacchan.” Izuku signed, shoulders falling into themselves. “What you said, it's a lot to hear.” He began, voice small and unsure. “At one point, before everything, I would have been so happy to hear it, and part of me is- but,” he blinked, trying to remove the sting from his eyes. “but, I’m not-”
The blonde quickly interrupted, surging forward and grabbing both of the omega's hands in a tight grip. “if you say you're ‘not good enough’ imma beat the shit out of ya.”
Izuku startled, green eyes widening as he snapped his gaze back up to look into red. They bore back at him, narrowed and intense. A clear challenge, one that Izuku recognized well that he wouldn’t be able to win so easily. It was enough to make the omega snort, a small smile pulling at the corner of his mouth.
“Kacchan,” Izuku whined, trying to pull himself from the other but failing. “You will lose your licence by beating up a civilian.”
Katsuki raised an eyebrow in defiance, “You’re not a shitty civilian yet. You're still under my and the parent’s protection, so if I see that it is important for your health to beat your ass, no one can do shit.”
Izuku shook his head at that, a small laugh bubbling up in disbelief. He knew for certain that the alpha was speaking nothing but hot air. “You’re stupid.”
The blonde smirked, leaning forward until his nose bumped the omega's. “I’m the smartest person you know.”
Green eyes closed at the contact, enjoying the casual feeling of the blonde so close to him. Izuku couldn’t stop the smile from growing on his mouth, a huffed laugh drawn from him before he spoke.
“I think Toshi might actually be.” The omega teased, scent filling with excitement. The alpha pulled back, eyebrow furrowed in an expectation for the omega to explain.
“It’s just- Did you know Toshi speaks two languages and is learning a third. He was also taking a psychology course for fun before the raid. When we last talked, he told me about all the random courses he has taken since there is a lot of down time with infiltrating into crime groups. I think he said he was about to finish a course on ‘The Functions of Pheromone Quirks and How they Affect Brain Processing’. But there hasn't really been enough funding for there to be any conclusive results yet from what he was explaining to me. But! Toshi has learned some other interesting things that have helped him reform his approach to quirks in the field. Oh! And he is also certified as an EMT and a ‘Specified Task’ Nurse- whatever that is- as well, though he seemed embarrassed to admit that for some reason- I should ask why since I think it's impressive and seems to be important knowledge to have as an Underground Hero. There are so many dangers-”
Katsuki huffed. “I get it, Nerd. You like my boyfriend more than me”
Izuku froze in his spot, eyes growing large. “No!- I mean me yes- I don't think that's true!” The omega took a deep breath when he noticed the smirk on the alpha's face.
Izuku smiled back, sitting up straighter as he kept talking. “Toshi is so amazing and so well versed in a lot of topics that I find it hard not to be fascinated when we talk. How can I not ask him all my questions when he is so easy to talk to. Oh! He's even started letting me ask about his quirk. I didn't realize how taboo it was for him to even attend UA- especially with how easy it is for him to infiltrate groups. Did you know that a lot of people were scared of him? I think it’s stupid. You would think people would see his quirk as a powerful tool for heroes. I mean, just think of all the possibilities he can be useful in. But all they did was think of what type of villain he would be. It's so dumb- it's like when kids said Kacchan’s quirk was dangerous. Sure, they said it when we were little and you were very opportunistic, but Kacchan is so strong now and knows he quirk so well. There is no way he would let it- ”
Katsuki laughed, rolling his eyes at the new tangent his childhood friend was falling into. He was sure Izuku would sit here for hours and talk in circles. The blonde let his head fall back slightly to shake in disbelief, it had been a very long time since he heard the nerd ramble.
Izuku glanced up at the other, snapping his mouth shut while his cheeks blossomed in embarrassment. “Sorry, Kacchan.”
Katsuki stood up, amused at the omega. His hand fell into green locks, “Common stinky, let's shower.” He teased while ruffling the omega’s hair.
Izuku nipped at the alpha’s wrist as he stood up, a happy chirp slipping past his lips as he glared at the alpha. “You're one to talk.”
“Oi” Katsuki barked, pushing the omega lightly in a silent urge to move up the stairs. “I actually worked out. You barely did anything.”
Izuku whined as he walked in front of the alpha, shoulders sagging in a dramatic huff. They reach the top of the stairs, a snide comment on the tip of Izuku's tongue, when his attention was called across the room.
“Izuku?”
The omega turned, seeing his mother and Masaru sitting together on the couch. It seemed they were reading, each with books in their hands and a blanket thrown over their legs.
“I thought that was you.” Inko smiled, though it wasn't her usual happy one.
“It's me.” The omega answered hesitantly with a nod. He couldn’t help but pull his hand behind his back.
Inko paused, her eyes looking to the blonde alpha before turning back to her child. “Can I talk with you? Just for a moment?”
Izuku nodded, his eyes turning to his childhood friend. “I'll see you later.”
Katsuki nodded, his red eyes moving from the green haired omega over to his Dam. The man had already closed his book and was moving towards the younger two.
“Ma?”
Masaru smiled, motioning for his son to follow. “Come help me start dinner.” Katsuki nodded, his figure dwarfing the brunette omega as they left toward the kitchen.
Izuku hesitated where he stood, arms shifting uncomfortablely until one crossed over his abdomen to clasp his other elbow in a tight grip. “What did you want to talk to me about?” He questioned, eyes still trained on the space the blonde alpha had walked through.
Izuku hadn’t been avoiding his parents per se, it was mostly just his mother since she was the only one that seemed to hang around the house during the day.
“I-” the older Omega stopped herself, nibbling at her lip. “I wanted to apologize.”
Izuku finally looked at her, his eyes expectant.
The woman sighed. “I'm sorry the night ended so badly. The fight was a lot for me and I'm sure I wasn't helpful at all when I snapped at you.”
Izuku nodded, eyes falling toward the floor as his mother got up and walked toward him.
“I just,” Inko let out a breath. “It's hard for me to sit by and watch my little boy grow up. I'm your mom,” Inko said, voice wobbly. “I still see you as my baby.”
Izuku turned his head. “I'm not a baby, and I wish you wouldn't have yelled at me.”
The woman nodded, hands clasped together in front of her. “And I wish you hadn’t yelled either, but there’s nothing we can do about it now. Honey, It's just hard for me to control myself sometimes, it's like my body does things out of my control.”
The younger omega nodded, not sure what to say. Inko lifted her arms to her son, opened wide.
“I think we both did and said things we didn't mean to.” Inko spoke. “I’ll try and do better. Not treat you like a child so much.”
Izuku nodded, stepping into his mother's embrace. “I’m sorry, mom. I don’t know why I got angry so fast. It's just, all the angry scents overwhelmed me. It reminded me of-” Izuku stopped.
“Oh, hunny. I wish you would share some of these things with me.” Inko hummed, rocking them back and forth slowly. “My therapist says that sharing can make things easier. Like exposure therapy. It can help remind the body you aren't there anymore. So why don’t we start sharing more with each other?”
Izuku frowned, his face pressed against his mother's shoulder. He thought back to his own sessions, trying to remember what he was advised. They hadn't talked about sharing what happened with other people; at least not from what Izuku could remember anyway. “I don't think I'm ready for that.” He whispered, unsure of himself.
“I don't think anyone ever is when it comes to hard things, Izuku.” His mother said, her fingers combing through his hair. “If it helps, I can go first.”
Izuku pulled away a little, his heart hammering in his chest. “Umm. Can we do it later?” he asked, keeping his eyes averted off to the side. “I'm kinda stinky. I just want to shower.”
Inko watched her son for a moment, before nodding. “Of course, baby.”
Izuku released a heavy breath he didn't know he had been holding. “ Thanks, mom.”
Hours later Izuku found himself struggling to leave his spot on the shower floor. The hot water had already turned his skin a dark red as the liquid actively dragged his pheromones down the drain before it could permeate into the air around him.
Green eyes stared blankly as the water rushed between his feet and down the drain. His jaw ached a little from resting his cheek on his knee for too long, but he really didn’t care that his teeth were digging into the inside of his mouth.
Nor did he care about how hard it had become to draw his gaze away from the swirling drain. Not when doing this made it easier to ignore Nyan’s irritated meows on the other side of the door, easier not to look over and see how the cat’s shadow moved back and forth impatiently. It was far easier to let the spray of water drown out the light scratches and small thuds the small cat made as he pushed up against the wood every so often in an attempt to gain the omega’s attention.
All because Izuku didn't know if he actually cared about anything anymore or if he had lost the ability to feel anything substantial. All the omega knew for sure was that he was exhausted. His head was spinning out of control while also remaining completely empty. His emotions were overwhelming but strangely vacant. It was all just too hard to do anything but sit with his knees drawn up to his chest, hair dangling over his face with the heavy weight of water.
Izuku had been proud of himself earlier, when he had finally dragged himself out of his nest - his original need to distract himself from the beginnings of a panic attack failing horribly- after escaping his mother. He had been so sure that sitting under the water would have helped get him out of his head, especially when remaining in his nest with sweaty clothes still stuck to his skin was a far cry from any kind of self care his therapist said was needed in situations like this.
And Izuku would have originally admitted that the woman had been right about that. Stepping under the spray of water had been refreshing and almost revigorating; warming his body and clearing his mind for the first few moments. Yet the effects had worn off before the shampoo had fully rinsed from green strands. Now the water wasn't as warm anymore, nor did it seem to be able to ease his mind from the awaiting abis.
So Izuku stayed in this huddled state, staying in his drifting mind of overwhelming emotion.
Izuku squeezed his eyes shut as a shuttered breath racked through his body, the first of many that had tried to get out. He hadn’t wanted to acknowledge the singular emotion that had been the overwhelming theme of the evening or how it finally formed into thought. Izuku didn't want to admit to the sudden realization that had concluded upon itself.
Although, as the water turned colder, Izuku felt the hot sting in his eyes betray his need to remain uncaring. Because despite everything good that had happened since his freedom from Kia, there was one person that he wished hadn’t been a part of it. One person that he wished hadn’t stayed after their reunion.
Izuku whined, his shoulders shaking as he squeezed his arms around his knees a bit tighter. He loved his mother dearly and had missed her every day that he had been away over the years. But now -as the bile in his throat threatened to upheave- he wished she wasn’t so close, so available to him anymore.
Ever since that night, Izuku found himself scared of his mother far more than he ever thought he would ever be. Was terrified by how he could sense her eyes on him like hot daggers in his back no matter how hard he tried to avoid her. It was hauntingly familiar to how he had lived under Kia. It was like the alpha was once again around every corner. And Izuku hated that it was his own mother - the person who was supposed to protect and care for him- who became a ghost in that alpha’s stead.
Izuku gasped, shivering as the water rained like ice on his skin.
He needed to do something, but what could he do? There was no way his parents would leave him. Not now that their son had miraculously returned to them.
That thought made the final wall deep inside break into pieces, because in reality their son hadn’t returned. Their child who had been taken- adventurous, happy and eager to become a hero- had died the very day he was grabbed off the sidewalk and forced into that truck.
Izuku squeezed his eyes tighter, frustrated at himself for not being able to pretend any longer to be that little boy. Angry that everything he did wasn’t enough to prevent the heartbreak to the one person that had loved him his entire life. Sad that this place that had been his new found safety was now a new cage.
But ultimately, Izuku regretted ever opening his heart.
A soft knock jolted the omega, his head lifting to look at the crack under the door. Nyan was still there but so was a new shadow beside the small body.
”Nerd?” Katsuki called with another set of knocks. “You’ve been in there for a long ass time.”
The omega cursed under his breath, pushing himself to his feet despite the way his legs cramped in protest. “Sorry, Kacchan. I’ll be out in a moment.” He rushed, voice cracking. He quickly grabbed a towel to dry off, his skin numb as he moved as quickly as possible.
”I brought you a plate. Figured we could eat together or some shit.” The alpha continued, his shadow shifting slightly.
Izuku grabbed a t-shirt, his underwear now sticking weird against his skin from his bad attempt at dying himself. “Sounds good.”
He pulled open the door, dragging the towel over his hair in an attempt to stop the water from drenching his sleep shirt. Red eyes scanned over him, stopping for a moment at his bare legs before flickering back up to meet the omega’s gaze where they paused and narrowed.
”Why’s the light off?”
Izuku tilted his head before realizing that he had taken a shower in the dark. “Oh… umm, headache.” He nibbled at his lip.
Katsuki watched him for a second longer before speaking. ”Common then.” He nudged his head to the side as he turned. “I had to reheat the food since the parents ate already. Shitty hag refused to wait.”
Izuku hummed, though he winced when the action caused his throat to ache. “That’s okay, no one needs me there to eat. I got distracted earlier, I didn’t want anyone to smell my stink at the table.” He lied.
He followed behind the larger man, rubbing his eyes quickly to make sure that his tears were dried before patting his cheeks lightly. He heaved a deep breath, smiling when the alpha’s content ginger scent filled his nose. It already helped to ease the dull throb in his chest.
”What distracted ya?” The blonde asked, settling at the desk where two plates of curry sat steaming.
Izuku licked his lips, his stomach tightening in hunger as he moved to sit on the edge of his bed and leaned over the closest plate to inhale the divine smell. “The gardeners were here again.” The omega shrugged before clapping his hands together in thanks for the meal.
Katsuki lifted a brow, “You watched the gardeners for three hours? Damn, we need to get you onto some of the trash tv Toshi watches. Those have to be better than creeping in a window like a weirdo.”
Izuku smiled slightly, liking that idea a lot. “Okay, Kacchan.” Izuku agreed easily, shoving a spoon full of the food into his mouth. “So good!”
The blonde nodded, “Ma’s curry is the fucking best.”
The two ate in silence, their scents mingling together between them as they enjoyed the meal. Red eyes would occasionally look over at the omega, but would ultimately return to his meal.
It wasn’t long before both plates were empty and Izuku was trying to hold back a yawn. When one slipped through, Katsuki was quick to bully the omega out of his room with a heavy hand on his back. “Common nerd, it’s late.”
Izuku hesitated in his bedroom doorway, head peaking out and looking down the hall to the door directly next to his own. It was closed.
”Right.” Izuku hummed, voice quiet as a new determination carried his feet to the alpha’s door.
“Get settled, I’m going to wash these.” Katsuki muttered, not looking over his shoulders as he walked down the stairs.
Izuku only nodded as he walked into the alpha’s room, closing the door quickly behind him with a soft click before launching himself onto the bed. The thick scent of Ginger and All Spice filled his nose, causing his omega to purr as he moved the blankets back so he could smother them against his skin. He sighed in relief, his omega more than happy to bask in the two scents that he no doubt couldn’t sleep without now. He laid down, sprawling his limps and rolling around a bit to get the scents onto his skin.
In retrospect, Izuku probably should have asked before releasing a bit of his own scent onto one of the blankets. Especially since by him doing so, as an unclaimed omega, showed blatant possessiveness over an alpha’s bed. This wasn’t a communal place, nor was he five years old in his Dam’s nest. Izuku shouldn’t be allowed to sleep in the same place as Katsuki and his partner. The omega was toeing a line- only because this wasn’t an official den- with heavy ramifications that implied that one or both alpha’s didn’t see their relationship as important.
But when Katsuki walked into his room with a smirk rather than a frown on his face, Izuku let any hesitance go as he rubbed his wrist against one of the extra pillows.
“What are you doing, Omega?” Katsuki asked, walking over to the edge of the bed to peer down at his childhood friend who was still sprawled out.
Izuku blushed, but quickly rolled over onto his belly and buried his face into Toshi’s pillow. “Nothing.” Izuku spoke, though it was barely audible.
The alpha cocked an eyebrow as he knelt onto the bed. “Uhhu. Are you going to be the one to tell my boyfriend why his side of the bed smells more like you than me now?”
Izuku poked his head up, his tongue sticking out toward the alpha. “Toshi loves my scent.” The omega declared with a huff.
”Of course he does, but I’m still his partner.” The blonde sniped back as he scooted closer, falling onto his hands to hover over the omega. “He likes my scent more.” He teased, dropping down until he was able to scent the same pillow Izuku was laying his head on.
Izuku watched, his chest rumbling with a purr as the blonde stretched out his neck right next to him. The large expanse of the tan skin was too alluring for the omega not to lean closer and nip at.
“Mine.” Izuku nipped lightly at the same spot again.
Katsuki pulled back, eyes trained on the other as he tried to decide if what Izuku had just done was laying claim to his partner’s pillow.
“Don’t you posture at me, shitty nerd. I’ll throw you out of my room.” Katsuki warned, though his scent remained just as light as the words that fell from his mouth.
Izuku glared, “No you won’t, or I’ll call Toshi and he’ll make you apologize." He declared with a lopsided smile.
The alpha clapped his teeth together twice, a warning that was obviously more for show than an actual threat. “He can’t make me do anything.” Katuski retorted. “Especially in my bed.”
The omega giggled as the alpha dropped back down, this time his face forcing its way into the crook of the omega’s neck. Izuku could feel the alpha’s teeth nibble the top of his shoulder through his shirt, a light growl filling the space. “Give me the pillow.”
”Kacchan, that tickles.” Izuku tried to close off the space, shoulders rising up to his chin in an attempt to force the alpha way to no avail.
A large arm bullied its way under the omega’s torso while the blonde dropped his upper body onto the smaller man to pin him in place. Izuku squealed louder, his smile stretching as he wrapped as much of the pillow under him.
“It’s mine now, Kacchan. Finder’s keepers.” Izuku gasped out as he tried to roll back and forth in another attempt at thwarting the alpha.
Katsuki pulled his face back just enough for him to latch his mouth onto the omega’s cheek in a gentle bite. “Doesn’t work like that, nerd.” He pressed, his arm pulling the omega up with him as he sat back onto his butt. He tugged the omega into his lap, corralling the smaller into a bear hug despite how the omega quickly wiggled his way into getting the pillow up under his shirt.
“There, now you can’t have it.” Izuku declared in triumph as he squeezed the shirt encased pillow. “I have laid claim to your boyfriend’s pillow.”
Katsuki rolled his eyes, but smiled when he heard the omega purr. He tucked his head closer to the smaller, rubbing their cheeks together to let their scents mingle to show he relinquished in their ‘fight’.
“Find, I’ll share the shitty man. But only if I can have you too.” Katsuki whispered, kissing the side of the omega’s cheek.
Izuku hummed, tilting his head slightly to allow the alpha to stay within the space comfortably. The two sat for a moment, rocking back in forth with purrs becoming heavier with each breath.
Katsuki huffed as he ran a hand along the omega’s arm, his small smile falling into a frown. “Why are you so cold? Your skin feels like ice.”
Izuku froze, the abyss from earlier edging once again at the corner of his mind. “T-the water ran out of hot water.” He mumbled, turning his face away from the alpha as he tried to resettle the lump that was regrowing in his chest. “I’m sorry, Kacchan.” He was quick to pull the pillow out from under the shirt, no longer feeling the same way he had moments before. “I shouldn’t have done that. That was very rude of me.”
Katsuki shook his head, pressing his cheek against the omega’s again. “Don’t think so hard. You didn’t do anything wrong.” Katsuki hummed as he refused to let the omega scurry away. “I already told you my feelings. Let yourself feel your own.”
Izuku blinked at that, his eyes becoming glassy. “Kacchan.” He whispered, turning to look up at the alpha. “Sometimes I feel like I’m going crazy.”
Red eyes stared back at him for a moment. “You’re not. It’s okay to let yourself be happy, Izuku. Even if it feels like everything is falling apart. Toshi and I have you. When you’re with us, let yourself feel whatever is happening.”
Izuku bit at his lip, his throat tightening.
Katsuki huffed as he forced the omega to look up at him with two fingers on the chin. “I’ve got you. Even if you don’t have words to say, or a reason behind the emotion bubbling up.” The blonde said, his nose rubbing along the omega’s in a light caress. “You know I am shit at emotions, but I am feeling you right fucking now that I will hold you as you cry.”
Izuku nodded, tears tracking down his face as he tucked his head under the alpha’s chin. “Kacchan.” He whimpered.
The blonde hummed, his arms wrapping around the omega in a solid embrace. A sob broke through the omega’s lips, his smaller frame shaking with the impact.
“I’ve got you, nerd. I’ve fucking got you.”
The room was bright; fluorescent ceiling lights and daylight-bulb lamps flooding the space. It was too much for one to handle this late at night. Especially with the annoying sounds of the different equipment and computer fans filling the room. Each screen was on- brightness dialed to the sun- as they displayed graphs and charts; one even paused on an article of some kind.
Himiko walked through the cramped office carefully, attention perking as she noticed one of the masked henchmen carrying a blood vial to a machine before pacing it into a slot and pressing a button for it to spin. It made her mouth water, the red of the vial calling to her carnal lust in a desperate form of thirst.
“Don't just stand in the way, my men have important work to get done.” A low voice growled.
Himko shrugged her shoulders. “Can't a girl be curious?” she asked, not the least bit bothered as she walked closer to Overhaul. “Why am I here anyway? I gave you this week’s samples yesterday.”
Overhaul hummed, his face covered by his usual fabric mask as he looked into a microscope. “I have a new assignment for you.”
The omega rolled her eyes, leaping into an open stool and letting it spin her in a slow circle. “It better pay good or I'm out.”
Overhaul glanced up at her, eyes narrowed. “Talk to Shigaraki about your share, that is none of my business.”
Himiko stared back as she pulled a face that said ‘are you stupid’.
The alpha blinked, fully stepping away from the counter to grab a small bag. “During your next appointment with Izuku, administer this. In the upper leg and into the muscle, make sure the entire syringe is emptied.”
The omega snatched the bag and opened it quickly. Inside was a large syringe filled with a silver substance.
“What is it?”
Overhaul ignored the woman, instead settling back onto his stool and focusing on his microscope.
Himiko continued talking after a moment. “I don't think you understand how important it is for you to answer my questions.” She sang with a playful smirk.
“A parasite is of no importance. They do what needs to be done without any questions.” The alpha spoke, pulling out the slide and replacing it with a new one. “So do as you are told.”
“Ah, a parasite.” The omega hummed thoughtfully as she spun the chair in another circle. “That would imply I am of no benefit to you when that is completely untrue. We both know how little your reach is without me. I am the only person who is able to speak with Izuku. Not only does he trust me, but so does his Dam and his medical guardians.” Himiko spoke, voice light as she tossed the bag with the syringe around uncaringly between her hands.
Overhaul glanced at her, eyes narrowed and scent turned acidic. She just blink slowly at him with a fake smile as she spun around again. She giggled after a moment, enthralled now that she had the man’s attention. “Anything I say to him holds actual weight, you know. Both medically and socially. We have become something like friends. Izuku is so kind and thoughtful. A man with not just brains but a body that has alphas and an omega like me fawning over him. It’s hard not to swoon whenever we talk.” She laughed happily as she thought back to her last visit. “And the way he blushes. Izuku is so easy to flirt with.”
Overhaul growled, his shoulders hunching into themselves as he stepped closer to the omega. “You will not touch him.” He threatened, teeth snapping under the mask.
Himiko laughed, loud and fake. “Oh, but I have to.” She countered. “I am his nurse, he depends on me. I don't think you understand the restraint it takes for me to bring those vials here untampered. They are so delicate, one slip and,” she waved her hand to mimic tossing a vial. “It would be entirely understandable for me to not let such precious samples go to waste. Especially ones that I am so enamored with the taste and feel of. Oh, to have Izuku's blood so close but unable to have even a single drop has been torture.”
She sighed dramatically, jutting her bottom lip out into a pout. “So you will understand that I now require a higher exchange if I am to be anything more than a parasite in your equations.” Himiko smiled, tilting her head to the side as she looked the alpha over.
She loved the way Overhaul shook with anger, his gloved hand flexing on the counter as he stared daggers at her. It didn't scare her. Alphas rarely did since she had nothing to lose.
“So…” she hummed, crossing her legs like a lady while setting the bag on her lap. “What's in the syringe?”
